Lara would be, in my opinion, an advanced practitioner of yoga. She is clearly very athletic as she spends a lot of time running, swimming, being very active, and of course doing Yoga. However, her interests lie in the full concept of yoga and not just the physicality. You don't come across that very often especially in one as young as her. When we started doing yoga together, of course, she (like myself & most practitioners) always hated the poses like navasana, where your
For 8 months (Nov 2014 - June 2015) Lara lived with me in Bangkok while she worked at ESCAP, Human Rights Watch and doing sundry other charitable works. Literally overnight she collected a whole new cadre of friends and my house virtually became a B+B for her friends from around the world. It was full of fun, laughter and life. We became yoga buddies, hiking and travel buddies and she cured my insomnia with our Thai reading lessons late at night. We would manage a max of 30 m
Dear all, I'm mid way through my second round of chemo at the moment and I can't thank everyone enough for all the incredible support over the past several weeks. It has really helped keep my spirits up. Thank you to all my friends who have volunteered at the spit drives and thank you to everyone of you who have signed up to the donor registries. This is a photo of me in my panda onesie holding my portable chemotherapy bag! I have to go into hospital every day to receive 2 of
Lara has not a single bad bone in her body; unfortunately now this is only true in a figurative sense. During my time at university I would often come to crash at the Casalotti's Belsize Park residence. As your typical well-mannered chap would do, I always brought with me a little something to show my appreciation. That something was Ben's Cookies from the original Covered Market shop; I always brought more than enough for everyone. After dinner it was traditional for Uncle S
Thank you so much to our MP Tulip Siddiq for bringing up Lara's story on the Prime Minister's questions! And thank you David Cameron encouraging everyone to come out to the O2 and register! Watch the video here: http://goo.gl/yiTPJa

A message from an Italian-Thai fellow in Thailand. This sweet Italian-Thai guy was the last one to close out on the 3rd day of #match4lara campaign (14 January 2016) at the Thai Red Cross Society in Bangkok. He took an 8-hour bus ride from Chiangmai to Bangkokand straight to register for stem cell donation. And this is the message he has for Lara. His name is Mr. Jed. เด็กหนุ่มลูกครึ่งเดินเข้ามากรอกข้อความแจ้งความจำนงที่จะบริจาคสเต็มเซลให้ลาร่า ฉันถามเขาว่ารู้ได้ยังไง มาได้ยั
THIS IS LARA She called to say that she'll be coming to Bangkok for a few days to be an interpreter for her friend's mother who is doing a project on "domestic workers". When Lara arrived, I was surprised to see her limping and using crutches , I asked her what's wrong and her answer was "I am ok ka Pa Pia". The next day at dinner, she was obviously so tired and admitted she nearly did not make it up the BTS stairs. I knew straight away that there's something wrong and insist
Stefano and I are so happy that the doctors have let Lara come home for a few days after her first round of chemotherapy to help her build up strength to prepare her for the next rounds of chemo before she can have a stem cell transplant.
We are so grateful to everyone who has or are considering to be tested as a result of #match4lara. It will give Lara and others like her the best chance to find a suitable donor to help fight this disease.
